Oh. My. God.
ah… first the stem cell reversal and now this. what a day! truly we live in a golden age.
I… I don’t know… is it… is it satire? Can we suss out how many levels of hypertextuality we have working here… 1) cartoon spoof (satire) of an 2) movie (adaptation) of a 3) comic mini-series (refraction) based on a 4) genre (Batman, et al.) which itself is based on even further antecedent texts…
I need to have a strong drink now.
Is it wrong that I like it?
This is absolutely spot on satire of just how bad Watchmen could’ve been. Kinda like the American version of Akira spoof that’s on youtube.
Is it too much for me to hope that they get this on DVD release and treat it as cartoon comissioned by Veidt?
Already qualifies as Easter Egg material for the multi disc Extended Cut Blu-Ray edition with figurine.
I couldn’t continue watching it as my brain exploded at the point they had Silk Spectre pretend she was Jem. Did they have guy jumping out of exploding helicopters with parachutes deployed?
“Jon can give you cancer”
That’s just wrong
“Rorschach’s friends to the animals”
“If I could only get that kiss”
I thought the bit with Ozzy catching the Comedian as he falls through a window was brilliant.
Golly, this song is freaking catchy, I’m like humming it for days now.
So, so wrong!
And exactly the reason why the director decided to make the movie. *grin*
