female gazing at: Bruce Campbell

Bruce Campbell, still a hot pile of geeky snark as Sam Axe on Burn Notice, my favorite summer show. And Thursday is New Burn Notice Night! Hoorah!

I’m posting a picture like this one every weekday, of a man who is attractive and desirable, because I like to look, dammit — and because the female gaze doesn’t have to be such serious business.

Oh, and also as a fuck-you to Bret Easton Ellis, who thinks women don’t like to look.

(If you have a suggestion for someone we should female-gaze at, feel free to email me with a name or a link to a particular photo.)

  • Oh, you have totally made my day with this one! Burn Notice is my newest favourite thing (Thursday night is Burn Notice night in the UK too, how about that?) and I do just love Sam Axe. Lady, you have great taste!

  • Magess

Woot! Bruce Campbell is excellent. :) I’m glad he gets to be on my TV every week.

  • kathleen

the man is smoooooth. Love it.

  • Stefanie

I, I don’t even know what to say. I love you! You and Bruce. Yeah, loving the female gaze.

  • Michael Moore

    Me next! Do me next!

Watch it now..keep this up and you’re gonna have that “male full frontal nudity protester” guy posting on here again.

  • CoriAnn

    Nice. :o)

Bruce Campbell was a hot stud 25 years ago, and I think he’s hotter now.
We females not only like to gaze, we are, on occassion, proud to drool.

  • Pollas

Bruce doesn’t do anything for me lookwise, but he’s great on Burn Notice and I loved his “cameos” in the Spider-Man movies. He’s great.

  • bree

Bruce is so damn special I even find him hot in BUBBA HO TEP, and that’s saying a lot. Perhaps he’s at his most pervy-delicious in ARMY OF DARKNESS? (“gimme some sugar, baby”) I can’t make up my mind.

@stryker – ha! i thought the same thing the second i saw the words “female gaze”. and like clockwork, the penis man is at it again on the ‘defining the female gaze’ thread. the predictability of it really amuses me for some reason.

  • LaSargenta

Actually, I think this is a more an example of the opposite of a female gaze.

I don’t watch Burn Notice — never seen it at all. I’m not familiar wiht his acting. All of you are familiar with it and seem to be linking your drooling over this guy to your exposure to some aspect of his character’s smoothness and behaviour. In other words, it isn’t his body, it isn’t his looks.

God forbid, it just might be his personality.

Nope, I am not lusting over him. He might be sexy if I met him, but this photo is, for me, distinctly off-putting.

    I wouldn’t cruise that guy.

  • Accounting Ninja

He doesn’t “do it” for me, either, but still, it goes to show that, unlike what some sensitive internet blokes bitterly claim, women don’t all lust after chiseled pretty-boys.

I know I’ve found some….physically questionable…men very attractive, it’s just something about them. It’s not all personality, either, it’s physical lust, even though he’s not what anyone would consider beefcake.

  • Bruce certainly does do it for me, as do some of the pretty boys (Paul Gross, David Tennant, Rufus Sewell). I also harbour fantasies of being rescued from various types of badness by DCI Gene Hunt (the one and only Philip Glenister). But there’s plenty of supposed eye candy that doesn’t do it for me. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, both leave me cold I’m afraid (Katie and Angelina will be relieved I’m sure!).

  • Lisa

I don’t understand how he never became a huge huge star. He was absolutely brilliant in 2 episodes of Homicide Life on the Street. He’s the only reason to watch Burn Notice, imho.

  • Lisa

Tom and Brad don’t do it for me either but that’s to do wth personalities/beards/narcissism/scientology.

  • Dre in Spain

Tom, Brad et al don’t do it for me either. I don’t do the pretty boy look, I need something behind the attractiveness. Besides most of the time it is a publicist who gets paid to exult their virtues. For me, personality and a certain quirkiness wins outright, not what some person in Hollywood tells me I should like.

  • MaryAnn

    It’s all of the above.

For me, at least, my female gaze isn’t just about a pretty face or a pretty body. That’s not enough. There *must* be something more: talent, humor, personality.

Bruce Campbell was, for me, at his most physically attractive in the *Brisco County* era, but even with a few more pounds on him now, and more gray hair, he’s still totally sexy. I’d do him in an instant.

Heh. Ditto. But I’m gonna tell a funny story about my female gaze on Cruise after *Knight and Day* opens (and hopefully I can find the right still from the movie to go with it).

Abso-bloody-lutely. As I’ve already said on one of these threads, self-deprecating humour combined with hotness is my Achilles heel. But you have my wish-list MAJ… Monday seems a long way away – it’s a good job I have Doctor Who to occupy me ’til then.

Bruce Campbell is totally not my type, and yet I kinda adore him…
