screencap Friday: what the flick? #129

Friday fun! Here’s a screen capture from a DVD… and just to make things harder for 2010, this one is from a TV show which may or may not be in my collection (it’s sooo much easier to do screengrabs now that Netflix is streaming to my computer). Guess the TV show — you don’t need to guess the episode, just the show — and earn the respect of me and your fellow FlickFilosopher.com readers. One guess per comment — no fair hogging all the guesses.

  • Thirtysomething? That woman looks suspiciously like Nancy.

  • DaveTM

Miami Vice – Just from the pink shirt/White blazer and red t-shirt with black suit jacket.

  • Christy

I was thinking Knight Rider. That blurry hair looks kinda like Hoff hair.

  • MaryAnn

Nope. But you’re thinking along the right-ish lines…

  • The background architecture SCREAMS London/England. The license plates as well are a dead giveaway.

Problem is I don’t know any late 80s British shows you would be watching other than some murder mystery program like Midsomer Murders. You know, if all those British murder mysteries were ever made real, given the high body count of each episode (at least 3 per), the population of England ought to be 12 total people (11 snark-witted detectives and 1 serial killer) by now.

    But I digress.

    Is it The Piglet Files?

  • Jester

I haven’t got a clue as to the show, but as a BMW fan, I can narrow down the year. The 325e and 325i were only sold together from 1984 to 1987 in Europe. In the U.S. both were only sold together during one model year: 1987-88.

  • Oh. The license plates weren’t real license plates they were just… describing the car models. Okay. My mistake.

I still think the architecture in the background is London-esque townhouse structure.

  • MaryAnn

Oo, so not London. Think British Columbia. (I hope that’s not too big a hint…)

  • DaveTM

    Ashes to Ashes

  • Ann

    British Columbia? X-files?

  • Jordan

I know this is probably wrong, but this looks like a pick from a Hall and Oats video.

  • Keith

    Due South?

  • MaryAnn

I promise that it’s not a music video.

And no one has guessed right yet…

  • Lisa

    Slings and Arrows?

  • Kat

    21 Jump Street?

  • MaryAnn

Yes, it’s *21 Jump Street.* Kat wins!
