female gazing at: Liev Schreiber

For reader LaSargenta (and me, too, of course):

Every man looks good in period costume:

And in a tux… which is, in this case, also period costume; this is Schreiber as Orson Welles in RKO 281:

And in fangs:

I’m posting pictures like these every weekday, of a man who is attractive and desirable, because I like to look, dammit — and because the female gaze doesn’t have to be such serious business.

(If you have a suggestion for someone we should female-gaze at, feel free to email me with a name or a link to a particular photo.)

I love his work as an actor and narrator.

Cotton Weary peering through my soul from across the internet! AAAAAAHHH!!

  • Dokeo

I never really thought of him as that hot…but now I see that it’s just the super-abundant facial hair that’s my turn off. Clean-shaven Liev is quite tasty. That image from RKO-281: wow! Although when I look again, in that shot he looks like a combination of Ewan McGregor (ooh – future FG candidate?) and Jason Bateman.

As actor, narrator, director, if he’s involved, I will watch. (Everything Is Illuminated, CSI season 7, A Walk on the Moon…)

  • And A Walk on the Moon had Liev Schreiber (with a few extra pounds) and Viggo Mortensen (the blouse man) in the same flick!

I like that most of the guys you’ve listed also look quite smart.

You can trust me when I say that stupidity is an enormous turnoff for me. I will not be featuring any guys who come across as idiots. A handsome face and a nice body simply ain’t enough for me.

Hurrah! I like that stance, MaryAnn – there’s nothing more of a turn-off than nothing going on behind the eyes.

the super-abundant facial hair that’s my turn off

Haha, so I guess that means my suggestion of Ron Perlman as he looked in Beauty & The Beast (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1784518912/tt0092319) didn’t fly with you? :P

I second the case for Ewan McGregor. Pillow Book, anyone? Not to mention numerous others. Have you seen Velvet Goldmine, MaryAnn?

  • LaSargenta

    Why, THANK YOU verymuch!

Was the third one from The Painted Veil? I never actually saw that.

Here’s a good one, too: http://www.playbill.com/news/article/78811-Liev-Schreiber-to-Be-Henry-V-in-Central-Park-June-24-Aug-10 The photo is actually from Hamlet. I never got to see him in that. He was an amazing Henry V, though. Much better than Brannagh, imnsho.

Leiv Shreiber is really quite deliciously attractive. Yum.

Agree completely with not finding a lack-of-brainpower attractive – this is why I’m completely baffled by the David Beckham thing, he just looks so dim, bless him.

I remember re-watching RKO 281 not too long ago and thinking that it didn’t matter to me if Schreiber’s Welles was faithful to the real Welles or not. He created a compelling character, and the way he looked in the period suits was only a part of it. As I’ve said on here before, I need the personality to go with my pretty, and while Liev Schreiber doesn’t hit my usual standards for “pretty,” he gets full marks and then some for “personality.”

Excellent, excellent choice for the female gazing feature.

Guess that means Ashton Kutcher and Channing Tatum are off the list. However will we go on.

    +1 to Liev. Delish.

  • I love this female gazing thing. And that Liev is super hot!

  • Nina

While Liev isn’t up there in my super hot, he sure does have something. And I’m with you on the smarts behind the eyes as a major turn-on. I want my crushes to speak to my mind, not just my hormones.
