How does a 24-hour news channel “run out of time” to cover a story?
That’s some Zen stuff right there, that is.
Of course they can’t ever run out of time in any practical sense.
But “We’re out of time!” is less obviously an insult to their audience than what they really mean, which is probably something like:
“We’re sure this important yet boring and complicated news item has already exhausted your gnatlike attention span, so we’re switching topics before we lose you to one of those damn shopping channels. Up next, the looming threat to adorable puppies! Right after a few dozen brief messages from our sponsors.”
