‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: TARDIS prank at MIT

The school bell has rung for students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, which means it’s time for pranks. Like this one, in which MIT students erected a mock TARDIS on the roof of one of the school’s buildings. From bbcamericangirl’s Flickr page:

And this one is by photographer Eric Schmiedl:

Here, you can see the banner reading “The Doctor – 1 / Harvard – 0.” Tee-hee!

(Thanks to readers Martin and Keith for the links. If you stumble across a cool Doctor Who thing, feel free to email me with a link.)

  • and to think how many time we’ve driven pat that building and the Doctor never appeared! damn him.

  • Can MIT make The Doctor appear in your bedroom?

if only! i’d be a big contributor to the building fund!

Key detail: the banner reading, “Welcome Students” is evidently stolen from Harvard. Who knew the Doc was an MIT Hacker?

I love these guys. This is even funnier than the John Harvard statue clad in Halo warrior gear and cuter than the huge Harry Potter forehead scar on the MIT dome…

I don’t know where to put this, so I’ll put it here:
