trailer break: ‘Catfish’

Take a break from work: watch a trailer…

Don’t ask what the title refers to: You don’t want to know. You’ll find out at the end of the film. Which I cannot recommend highly enough… though it’s tough to talk about in any depth until after you’ve seen it.

Really one of the best movies so far of 2010.

Catfish opens in the U.S. and Canada on September 17; no U.K. release date has been announced.

  • Is this what Frorborr pitched in answer to your “most inappropriate rom-com” discussion? Half-an-hour of romantic loveliness followed by a taught and suspenseful thriller? Is there a head in the fridge?

Why must Brits miss out again? If they’re not going to distribute these great movies to us, they should agree to put them on iTunes. (Cos we can’t get NetFlix either.)

Well, I’m intrigued. And I’m usually automatically turned off by the “his friends videoed the whole thing” line (like the 2 we’ve had trailers for already this week). I guess it’s not coming to Italy, eh?

To me the trailer hints that the ending of the film is a creep or splatterfest instead of a realistic and suspenseful turn of events. Without spooling anything, can you at least say it’s more Hitchcock than Craven?
