Crazy 1979 short mentioned by reader Drave in comments recently:
That was fun! Looking forward to MaryAnn’s review, if any. (I turned 18 in 1979. How time flies…)
Always a fine thing to show to people who’ve never seen it.
(MaryAnn, do you have the full film? It’s not as utterly manic as this, but it’s still pretty decent.)
However, I suspect Drave meant the 1988 full-length feature with the same title by the same director.
That? Was teh awesome! Reminds me of my childhood…my son says:
I’ve always loved that movie. I used to have it on VHS, but I lost the tape. :(
One rental place in town had that way back in the day, it isn’t the greatest movie ever but it’s a whole lotta fun. I still have the tune stuck in my head today. That and I remember freeze framing it for hours because since most of the effects were done with stop motion he hid tons of messages on single frames.
I remember owning this on 3/4 inch tape and playing it frame by frame with the other students during TV class…great stuff!
I still got the VHS. I wonder what happened to the
“Wizard (in real life?).
