reasons to subscribe at $1 per month: Part VI

I’m looking for at least 5,000 readers to subscribe to FlickFilosopher.com for at least a buck per month by October 1.

GOAL: 5,000 4,732 (as of 09.10)

• Goodies!

This weekend I will be preparing the shipment of goodies to many of those readers who’ve already subscribed. Among the goodies they’ve been choosing from:

= a whole bunch of Region 1 DVDs
= a whole bunch of vintage movie soundtracks on CD, many out of print and obscenely expensive to buy used
= promotional merchandise, such as a Burn Notice beach kit, a Ghost Hunters nightlight, and Law and Order t-shirt, and more
= vintage geek-related lapel pins (culled from my own personal collection of awesome), including these:

and many more.
Some of these things will go in the mail to those first subscribers and be gone forever. But not all of them. There’s tons of stuff still left, and I’ll be adding new things to the list.

I can’t give a gift to everyone — I wish I could — but I told the subscribers in the first batch that I’d randomly choose at least 10 percent of those who responded with goodie picks to get something. But it looks like it’s going to be more like 50 percent. And anyone who doesn’t get something in this go-round will be entered into the next. Including anyone who subscribes now.

(If you subscribed before September 5 and you did not receive an email from me earlier this week inviting you to pick some goodies, that means you don’t regularly check the email address associated with your PayPal or Amazon account. But don’t worry! Just forward me the receipt for your payment — so I can compare it with the receipts I receive from PayPal and Amazon — and tell me the email address at which you’d prefer to receive communications from me. There will be more rounds of giveaways, and you won’t miss out.)

Won’t you please subscribe at only $1 per month? That’s less than the cost of a new DVD for an entire year.

(More reasons to come…)

Damn. Should have put that “Vote Saxon” button on my most wanted list. It would definitely double my geek cred.

  • allochthon

What to do if the e-mail address I have associated with PayPal isn’t the same one I use here? Confirmation number: 0WJ27494FB065271M

    oooh, Vote Saxon!

  • MaryAnn

That number doesn’t help me, allochthon. It may not be included on the payment confirmation I receive.

And it doesn’t matter if the email you use here isn’t the same as the one you use on PayPay or Amazon, as long as you check that other email address for mail.

If you subscribed before 9/5, though, and you didn’t receive an email from me on 9/5 asking you to pick out some goodies, you’ll need to forward your receipt to me. Sorry.

I would, MAJ, I would, but I don’t have access to a credit card.

  • zepto

Yikes, I should check my email more often….
