question of the day: Do you listen to movie soundtracks as music?
I’m always trying to come up with new features for the site, and one of the things I’m considering is writing about movie soundtracks once in a while. But it occurs to me that even among serious movie fans, listening to movie music may not be a widespread thing. So:
Do you listen to movie soundtracks as music?
Do you enjoy movie music as a separate thing from the movie itself? Do you make a distinction between a soundtrack that’s a compilation of pop songs and one that’s an orchestral score? Do you have favorites that you listen to again and again? Do you think movie scores can be great music when separated from the film they belong to… or is the value of the music only exist in connection with the moving images they were written to accompany?
