Weinstein Company has a fucking comment on the shit piss fuck PG-13 version of ‘The King’s Speech’!

I have the oddest feeling that the following statement from The Weinstein Company — which I just received by email from a publicist — regarding the new PG-13 version of The King’s Speech is meant to be some sort of response to all the bloggy consternation over the censoring of the film:

TWC COO David Glasser said, “We thank the MPAA for their speedy and sensitive consideration of the alternative version of THE KING’S SPEECH. We are thrilled that they have assigned this version a PG-13 rating and are very grateful for the waiver of the 90-day withdrawal period. At this time, TWC and the filmmakers are discussing the appropriate next steps.”

Though it’s sort of like someone getting blasted by an atom bomb and then commenting on how lovely and warm the weather suddenly is.

“Appropriate next steps”? How about shitcanning the PG-13 version and trying to pass the whole idea off as an early April Fool’s joke?
