question of the day: If you were going to invent a new Oscar category à la the MTV Movie Awards, what would it be, and who or what would be the definitive example of a winner?

The MTV Movie Awards were handed out last night in Los Angeles. In case you care, the winners were:
Best movie: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Best male performance: Robert Pattinson, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Best female performance: Kristen Stewart, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Best kiss: Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Best fight: Robert Pattinson vs. Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Best breakout star: Chloe Grace Moretz, Kick-Ass
Biggest badass star: Chloe Grace Moretz, Kick-Ass
Best comedic performance: Emma Stone, Easy A
Best line from a movie: Alexys Nycole Sanchez, “I want to get chocolate wasted,” from Grown Ups
Best scared as shit performance: Ellen Page, Inception
Best villain: Tom Felton, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
Best jaw dropping moment: Justin Bieber, Never Say Never

I’m not even sure what a “scared as shit performance” should entail, though it doesn’t sound like something that deserves to be rewarded. On the other hand, perhaps the best thing about the MTV Movie Awards is its cheeky categories: Best Kiss, Best Fight, Best Villain. The Oscars could use a few fun categories to enliven its broadcast each year.

If you were going to invent a new Oscar category à la the MTV Movie Awards, what would it be, and who or what would be the definitive example of a winner?

Have fun…
