Well, tweet at him, and be lost in the deluge of tweets from horror dorks groveling at his virtual feet.

From a press release:

Want to talk to the man who brought you cult classics like….HALLOWEEN, THE THING, THEY LIVE, THE FOG….legendary filmmaker….John Carpenter!?! On Friday, July 8, 2011, John Carpenter will be LIVE on Twitter (@ARC_Entertain)!!! He will be answering questions via tweets from 2:00-3:30pm PST. So follow us on @ARC_Entertain and talk to the “master of horror” himself, John Carpenter!! Send your questions to @ARC_Entertain to get an answer from The Master Of Horror! Make sure to include #theward in your tweet to ensure your question gets to the right place!

JOHN CARPENTER’S THE WARD, a psychological thriller about a young woman locked in a mysterious mental institution in the 1960s, marks iconic horror master John Carpenter’s first feature film in over ten years.

Kristen (Amber Heard), a beautiful but troubled young woman, finds herself bruised, cut, drugged, and held against her will in a remote ward of a psychiatric hospital. She is completely disoriented, with no idea why she was brought to this place and no memory of her life before being admitted. All she knows is that she isn’t safe.

ARC Entertainment will release JOHN CARPENTER’S THE WARD in Los Angeles and New York, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis and New Orleans on July 8, 2011.

I love that “beautiful but troubled” bit. As if beauty somehow normally eliminates “troubled” as a possibility from a young woman’s pyschological makeup. “Even her beauty couldn’t save her from being troubled.” Bleh.

Perhaps someone could ask Carpenter why his John Carpenter’s The Ward is so boring and unsuspenseful, and why he thinks it’s sexy when hot teenage girls are abused in mental hospitals. Or perhaps someone might ask him if he’s pissed that Sucker Punch out-misogynies his hot-crazy-girl-is-hot flick.

Inquiring minds, and all that…
