question of the day: Will DVD bonuses disappear as streaming and on-demand get more popular?
Today, a followup to yesterday’s question, which was “What DVD bonus material has helped you appreciate a film (or TV show) more than you otherwise would have?”
Reader Patrick, who suggested the question, wrote at the same time:
Sadly, streaming and downloading are overtaking home video, and so this relatively new art form (and when it’s done right *is* an art form) may die not long after it was conceived only a few short decades ago. *sigh*
Is Patrick right? Will DVD bonuses disappear as streaming and on-demand get more popular? Will they perhaps move elsewhere, maybe to their own streaming or on-demand services? Or will we one day see them as an artifact of physical media?
