What my followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ saw today:
• Goram, today’s Teefury shirt sure is shiny! To Serenity and Beyond!
• Yeah, so nothing new here, then… In Hollywood, Where Are the Best Actress Oscar Nominees?
[This was posted at the Facebook page of the Alliance of Women Film Journalists.]
• Glenn Greenwald explains how pretty much all the American media was in bed with Petraeus. Journalmalism! Petraeus scandal is reported with compelled veneration of all things military
Oh look, Greenwald is riding one of his tangentially related hobby horses again. Color me shocked. I’ve never cared for his conclusions, but I think he’s really lost the plot on this one. He’s basically claiming that no one has heard anything about this huge story that’s all over the media cause the media won’t talk about this thing they’re all talking about, with out once stopping to wonder why this is a story at all, let alone a national security issue.
Standard American (and, increasingly, British) values: you can quite literally get away with murder as you don’t get caught screwing around. See also the Onion: http://www.theonion.com/articles/rumors-of-extramarital-affair-end-campaign-of-pres,26801/
