You probably didn’t see The Collector (generic trailer here) back in 2009: it earned less than $10 million worldwide, which means hardly anyone saw it. With a budget estimated at around $6 million, it can’t have been very profitable, if at all, once marketing and other costs are taken into account.

So naturally, they made a sequel.

And hence we have bland hero, woman being tortured, and a house of booby traps. I dunno: this “new face of American horror” looks a helluva lot like all the other ones.

But oh, they’re going with a “Black Friday” motif. God help us, we are probably only one holiday season away from a demented maniac running amok in a Wal-Mart the day after Thanksgiving. In a movie, I mean.
