Oh wow. This looks even better than I was hoping for:
“C.S. Lewis meets H.G. Wells meets Father Christmas. That’s the Doctor.” Perfect.

(If you stumble across a cool Doctor Who thing, feel free to email me with a link.)
Now this *is* going to be great. I think I’ll be able to take or leave The Day Of The Doctor as I imagine it will be a Moffat greatest hits fest (timey-wimey -check, Companion scolding the doctor in an exasperated motherly way – check, sniggering boy penis humour – check, goofy face-pulling from both doctors – check and the inclusion of Elizabeth can only be to have a punchline about hurmph hurmph snicker…). Quite rightly the actual episode will be above criticism and the hype will help gloss over any weaknesses, but as a heartfelt and proper celebration of the last 50 years, rather than a glitzy bauble, I am glad they commissioned Mark Gatiss to do this. This will be the real love letter to the show.
I found that I am also looking forward to this almost more than the Doctor Who episode. This is the one I’ve been getting giddy over all summer.
