BOTTOM LINE: In this anthology of six short films, only two feature distinct female protagonists… though the one of who fills a traditional movie role of a bride on her wedding day does confront and confound some clichés of the romantic comedy.
NOTE: This is not a “review” of Wild Tales (Relatos salvajes)! It is simply an examination of how well or how poorly it represents women. (A movie that represents women well can still be a terrible film; a movie that represents women poorly can still be a great film.) Read my review of Wild Tales (Relatos salvajes).
