    Great article. Interesting comments as well: from women who want to call attention to the road narratives *they’ve* written, as well as from people pointing out that, for some reason, SF/Fantasy seems to have more “female journey” narratives than “realistic” literature.

    One can always point out the narratives that exist — Wild, Eat Pray Love, Tracks, etc — but of course they’re still far too few.

  • And they’re *very* new. Men’s road trips are thousands of years old.
