Nigel in Paris: face to face with gargoyles
Climb up the north tower of Notre Dame to get to the open gallery between the towers. Netting separates some of the gargoyles from the human (and swine) visitors…
…but not from all!
“Don’t let him eat me!”
Enjoying the architecture:
In the belfry:
At the very top of the south tower (150 steps above the open gallery), another view of Sacre Coeur (which we also saw from the top of the Arc de Triomphe):
One of my most favorite photos of Nigel ever, as he contemplates taking up a contemplative life of prayer and reflection. His contemplation was brief.
(That wonderful window is found on the climb down.)
Finally, a well-earned coffee in the shadow of the cathedral:
We were all the way up at the top!
