wait –wouldn’t the difference be he *would* be looking down at a smartphone?
Reminds me of the conversation we all had about “cultural stagnation” a couple years back.
While I was watching Steve Jobs, and looking at the late-’90s iMacs, I thought: Why would you make a computer that looks like a giant gumdrop?
And I think I still have one of those iMacs somewhere in my apartment.
Why would you make a computer that looks like a giant gumdrop?
Because no other computer looked like one? I thought it was brilliant.
Everything high-tech today is essentially a flat shiny rectangle. Kinda getting boring. We need more giant gumdrops in the mix.
I want designers to bring back ultra-retro items, like flapper skirts and bowler hats.
I want designers to come up with things we’ve never seen before! :-)
Me, too. And I want them to accessorize them with bowler hats.
The not looking down is what would make him out of place. It’s interesting how not particularly “’80s” the costume is, though.
oh, i see — she’s talking about ’80s marty. my brain has ceased to function today. three geek errors and i’m out of the game today.
It’s probably not a *good* thing, but I pretty much dress the same in 2015 as I did in 1985.
