SUCK IT, MRAs.
…And Forest Whitaker!
AT-ATs are still a platform without a mission. I smell procurement boondoggle.
Yeah, and as predicted, the whining about ANOTHER female protagonist is happening. Nevermind al those other star wars movies with male leads and stars. Heaven forbid we get two whole Star wars movies in a row with female heroes/leads. Men everywhere will shrivel up and die! augh!
Do they mind if I watch?
Some people are saying she’s mary sue… she might be a psychopath.
It’s a bit early to say that, surely? If you want to make a generic attack convincing to anyone other than those who already agree with you, you have to make it look as if it’s not a generic attack, and go after details.
Well, it’s a woman who’s the main character, and she does stuff. What more details do they need?
I’m looking forward to seeing all the ways that the filmmakers distinguish the standalones from the main series. We might get a different opening title. We might not have the opening scroll. We’ll definitely have someone other than John Williams composing (Alexandre Desplat!) for the first time ever in a Star Wars film. It’ll be really weird, and really refreshing.
My one concern is that this is being directed by Gareth Edwards, whose Godzilla I really didn’t like. But as always, I hope for the best.
Well, that’s certainly a trailer. for a movie. With some Star Wars stuff in it. It’s like the most expensive fan film ever. And Gareth Edwards? Well, I fell asleep trying to watch Monsters. Twice. And his Godzilla is pretty much exactly what you’d expect if you handed the director of Monsters someone else’s property and 300 times the budget. I’m gonna see it, opening weekend, in one of the theaters with the reclining seats and a bar, because it’s Star Wars. But I’m no where near geekgasming.
