“Millions agree with him.” This is now how truth is determined: sheer numbers.
“Look! We’re controversial! Please please please please please buy our paper!”
Ah, the appealing-to-popularity fallacy.
In some cases, I wish sheer numbers DID determine reality. By sheer number of votes, Donald Trump should not be president.
Yikes. Bill Kristol, Ross Douthat, and now Stephens. I’m picturing the Times editorial team looking at each other and saying, “Me neither. Do you know any conservatives?”
On the other hand, even more millions of people disagree with this guy.
Yeah, well, that’s a different appeal to the majority issue.
Could… could they not get anyone else?
Except subscriptions are WAY up since Trump was elected. The Times has been doing great, financially.
