Kiss the Bride (review)

Romantic comedies don't come any blander or more generic than this one. Four adult sisters come together for the wedding of one of them, and the predictably disparate paths they've taken cause mild friction, until it no longer does. Niki (Brooke Langton) is an actress, starring in a Baywatch-type boobfest; Chrissy (screenwriter and director Vanessa Parise) is a Wall Street stockbroker, and unhappy in her work; Toni (Monet Mazur: 40 Days and 40 Nights) is a musician who wants to be more shocking in her personal life than she is. They all look down on virginal, demure Danni (Amanda Detmer: Big Fat Liar), who has stayed close to home and to Mom and Dad. The frolicking around upscale beachside Rhode Island in preparation for Danni's wedding doesn't even rise to the level of soap opera, though it might be prescribed as a cure for insomnia... and if the four sisters barely register as people, that's more than can be said of poor Geoff (Johnathon Schaech: How to Kill Your Neighbor's Dog), Danni's intended, or any of the assorted pals and hangers-on who trail around after the sisters. This is one wedding invitation for which you'll be sending regrets only.
