Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law: Volume One (review)

"Feel the power of attorney!" screams Harvey Birdman, cartoon lawyer, and you will, my friend, you will. The entry in Cartoon Network's late-night Adult Swim ransacks the cartoon world for legal cases, and the butts in the witness chair belong to a rogue's gallery of sketchy characters -- Shaggy and Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear, Fred Flintstone, and even Harvey himself (the voice of Gary Cole: The Ring Two) -- whom you always suspected were up to no good. Each of these 13 episodes of the universe's first animated legal show is a loving and outrageous homage to the toons that warped our tiny minds as children, and now have the power (of attorney!) to continue warping our minds as adults, with their hilarious pop-culture plundering and stream-of-consciousness critique of what they dig up. Extras include commentaries on selected episodes and a slew of silly stuff like the Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law movie trailer and "casting what-ifs."
