eat my Oscar shortsUPDATE: Doh! I waited too long to make my reservation -- the NYC screenings are full. Damn. Oscar pools are dog-eat-dog, and every advantage you can get is one you should take. Like this: The Oscar-nominated shorts, both animated and live-action, will screen for the public in New York on Saturday, February 25, in two showings at noon and 4pm, at the Academy Theater at Lighthouse International at 111 East 59th Street; call 888-778-7575 for reservations; tickets are first-come, first-served, even with reservations, so arrive early. (I’ve got my reservation -- if I get in, I’ll report, of course.) If you’re in Los Angeles, you can check out some of the Oscar-nominated documentary shorts at American Cinematheque at the Aero & Egyptian Theatres, on these days: Friday, February 24th - 7:30 PM (Aero Theatre) Don’t forget that the Oscars will be awarded on March 5th, so if you need help with your pool choices, best to attend one of the earlier shows. Tickets at the box office or Fandango. The films: Short Film (Animated) Short Film (Live Action) Short Film (Documentary) |
