Chinese filmmaker Chen Kaige’s The Promise is now playing in limited release in North America, and to celebrate, I’ve got three copies of the soundtrack on CD to give away, courtesy of Superb Records. Here's the scoop on the set, from Superb:

THE PROMISE features score by Klaus Badelt (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, POSEIDON). PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and over 25 other major Hollywood films have established Klaus Badelt as one of the most sought-after composers in Hollywood. Badelt approaches each film with the intention of generating a purely original score with authentic production value. His style is to constantly reinvent himself and create a musical undercarriage that supports and enhances each cinematic experience. He has developed a devoted team who share his personal drive to explore new ideas and push the creative envelop. Badelt’s credits include CONSTANTINE, THE RECRUIT, THE TIME MACHINE, K-19: THE WIDOWMAKER, NED KELLY, BASIC, CATWOMAN, Werner Herzog’s INVINCIBLE, Richard Donner’s 16 BLOCKS, ULTRAVIOLET and the upcoming Wolfgang Petersen's POSEIDON.

If you don’t want to wait to win, buy the CD at Amazon.

please use this link to enter by sending your U.S. or Canadian mailing address

YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR U.S. OR CANADIAN MAILING ADDRESS. Entries without an address will be disqualified. Multiple entries will ALL be disqualified.

I’ll choose three winners at random from all eligible entries received.

who I am

I'm MaryAnn Johanson: geek goddess, film critic, and Generation Xer. I'm a writer and ponderer in New York City who drinks too much wine and thinks way too much about such inconsequences as movies, TV, books, and the meaning of life.
