site problems resolved... I think...

You may not have noticed any problems if you were just reading reviews, but if you tried to post comments over the last 20 hours or so you know that there was something really kerflooey with the database behind FlickFilospher.com (and GeekPhilosophy.com -- they run off the same DB). My host had a power problem yesterday that really threw a spanner in the works, and I've been in a state of near-panic since last night: my Movable Type backend was working fine, and my database looked okay, but the two weren't talking to each other. I wasn't going to lose any data (because I've got everything backed up), but it looked like I was going to have to rebuild the site from scratch, which really wouldn't have been fun and would have taken up many more hours (probably days!) that I seriously do not have to spare.

BUT -- *fingers crossed* -- it looks like everything has resolved itself just fine. MT can see the database again, I tried a test comment and it posted just fine, and now, obviously, I am able to post again.

Please let me know if you run into any weirdness around here... weirdness of the technical kind, I mean. I don't expect the other weirdness, of the kind that comes out of my head and onto the page, to go away.
