BUMPED UP: last chance to become a micropatron... forever

BUMPED UP. Just want to keep this in front of everyone...

This is it: this is your last chance to get in on micropatrony goodness forever. I’m going to be closing the ranks of micropatrons forever as of 11:59PM Eastern December 31, 2006. I’m NOT ending the benefits and giveaways to micropatrons -- those will continue indefinitely. But I won’t accept new micropatrons, and I won’t ask for renewals, ever, from anyone who is a micropatron as of January 1, 2007. In other words, anyone who is a current micropatron as of the beginning of 2007 will be a micropatron forever, without having to pony up another penny, ever.

The thing is, the micropatron program has served its purpose. I saw some tough times in recent years, and donations from micropatrons helped me through them, but today, things are much better. Traffic is way up at FlickFilosopher.com, which means ad revenues are also up; some of that new traffic is coming via my postings at Film.com, which is itself paid work; and my reviews are appearing in more and more newspapers around the country, and I continue to work to expand that little self-syndication network. So the need for the micropatron program, which was once pretty vital, has disappeared.
