micropatron program now closed

The deadline has passed, and the micropatron roster is now closed forever. You may see a few new names show up on the micropatron list down in the lefthand column over the next few days as those who got in under the deadline let me know how they want to be listed, but I am no longer accepting any new micropatron donations. Any new donations received after today will be returned.

Micropatron business -- giveaways and such -- will continue, but that will all happen via email: there will be no more news about micropatron stuff here at FlickFilosopher.com. If you are a micropatron and you have not been receiving the micropatron emails but you would like to, please let me know immediately so we can figure out what the problem is and fix it.

I received two anonymous donations via Amazon Honor System over the last few days. Because of the way Amazon administers this system, I cannot tell who made these donations. If you made a donation via Amazon within the last week, please send me your transaction number so I know who you are.

Finally, I want to thank all my readers for your continued support over the almost-decade since the debut of FlickFilosopher.com in September 1997. The site would not continue to exist without you. And even without the micropatron program, there are still ways you can offer financial support: You can click on an ad or two everyone once in a while. (I'm going to be looking at the ad situation over the next few months to see if I can reduce the number of ads without reducing my revenue, so be on the lookout for that.) You can buy my book, The Totally Geeky Guide to The Princess Bride, at Amazon. You can send a brief email or letter of thanks to your local alternative weekly, if it's one that runs my reviews; you might see them in Ace Weekly (of Lexington, Kentucky), Salt Lake City Weekly, Wausau (Wisconsin) City Pages, Charleston City Paper, and Rocky Mountain Chronicle. You can visit Film.com to read my daily postings there (many of which are exclusive to Film.com and do NOT also appear here).

Here's to another decade of FlickFilosopher.com.

Okay, so I'm a deadbeat and never got around to doing the micropatron thing. You're still one of the very best online critics, higher than Top 10 (feh), higher than Top 5, and really, in the upper echelons of the Top 3. Best wishes for the new year and the continued success of your sites!

Thanks! Who else is in the Top 3 with me? :->

You're still my Number One critic. How do I get a signed copy of The Totally Geeky Guide to The Princess Bride, again? (I've been a slacker and haven't picked up a copy yet...)
