‘Condemned’ promotion scares the bejesus out of New Yorkers
Yesterday while I was toodling around between press screenings at the Tribeca Film Festival, I ran across this live promotion for the new flick The Condemned, opening today. At first glance I freaked -- Why is there a chain gang on the streets of Manhattan?! -- but then I realized that the chains were plastic and the jumpsuits had The Condemned -- opening April 27! emblazoned all over them. Whew. I skipped the press screening for Condemned earlier this week, because “professional” wrestling and all things associated with it leave me stone cold. I was surprised Lionsgate showed the film to critics at all, actually, and it looks like it probably wasn’t such a great idea. The movie’s at 11 percent Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes at the moment, and even the “positive” reviews are a hoot: the most entertaining WWE release to date says Luke Thompson in L.A. Weekly. There’s a rave. (Technorati tags: Condemned, chain gang) Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |
