So why are you dreading Evan Almighty? I notice that both of your "NO!" people were both involved with The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up...

I despised *Bruce Almighty*, and expect much the same from *Evan.* Why should it be any different?

If anything, Evan Almighty looks much worse. Bruce Almighty was at least occasionally amusing.

Evan Almighty looks like an improvement to me, just because it doesn't deal with the implications of being God. That's a big and important topic that the writers were nowhere near smart enough to deal with in the first movie. Evan Almighty, on the other hand, appears to be a more Old-Testament take on The Santa Clause. The budget is higher but the themes are more modest.

Then again, they are trying to base a comedy around the story of God killing everyone on the planet.

Richard Armitage is MY boyfriend so hands off! :)

;-)

Many of us discovered Richard Armitage in the BBC series North and South (of England, not America). Highly recommended!

If you're moving the bias meter/alert off the main page, fine, but any way you could copy the "recent screenings and hot movies" to the main page? I miss being able to go to the main page and see instantly the latest movies you've reviewed. =^)

All the recent-postings listings appear in the righthand column of every page. They're the exact same listings that had been on the main page where the Bias Meter was. And of course the "recent screenings and hot movies" listing is where it has always been.

Just make http://www.flickfilosopher.com/blog your destination when you visit here, and all that info is right there.

Oh! I think you're my new best (online) friend. Loved your review of Robin Hoodie and Hex. I also think you have mighty fine taste in Mr. Armitage. However, you should be aware that there is a long, long queue for him that has been growing for over a year, so get at the back of the line, missy! ;)

Yeah, Judd Apatow is a hack. I can only image I can only imagine how low he'll sink for his next "heartwarming" bottom-scraper.

You all on here can only wish you had even a smidgen of the intelligence, nerve, and film making ability that Judd Apatow has.

I know that you only have one slot for "Dreading". Just curious if the upcoming movie "Superbad" will fill that spot.

Depending on what else is being released around when *Superbad* is coming out... yeah, I imagine that movie will be my "dreading." :->

I can't make up my mind about Richard Armitage in Robin Hood. I loved him in North & South but here, it's like he's doing "Professor Snape Goes to Nottingham." But then maybe that makes sense, because Alan Rickman himself was similarly both sexy and revolting in that awful Prince of Thieves.

I'm actually psyched for that rat movie.

As for Judd Apatow...

Anyone who has seen "Freaks and Geeks" knows that Apatow is not a hack writer. His work on that series is just so much better than the genuine hackwork on "That 70s Show" or "That 80s Show" that it's ridiculous.

Unfortunately, it doesn't necessarily follow that his work for the big screen is as good as his work for the small screen. It'd be nice if it were.

But at the moment, the jury is still out...

I can't make up my mind about Richard Armitage in Robin Hood.

The "problem" with Armitage in RH is that he's so much better than the material. You can see him doing everything he can with -- it's not his fault that there's not much there to start with.

I'm watching N&S now, and man, he's brilliant.
