opening wide today: ‘Beowulf,’ ‘Love in the Time of Cholera,’ ‘Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium’
Beowulf
The ur action hero gets a brand-new CGI makeover. I wish they hadn’t thrown in the Uzis, and the scene in the strip club makes me suspect they didn’t adhere closely to the original medieval poem. (my review is here)
Love in the Time of Cholera
A man in 19th-century South America pines for his lost love of his adolescence for, like, 50 years. And I thought I was pathetic in the romance department. (my review is here)
Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium
It's a magical world of toys for all the good boys and girls, and just in time for the holiday shopping season. Insert joke about wanting Natalie Portman for Christmas here. (my review is here)

How about a review on Margot At The Wedding, please?

I'll get to it. It just opened today -- in two theaters. When I have to choose between reviewing the movie that opens on 4000 screens and the movie that opens on two, I'm afraid the former's going to get my attention first.
