I need to watch this episode again. The thing I was confused most about was -
Ben said he had a man on the boat, which means that communication was possible between the island and the boat before Charlie threw the switch in the Looking Glass. After that happened, Ben was captured and so he couldn't have communicated. So was he lying all along about communications being down? Did he somehow have his own signal working but had blocked the rest of the island's?

I think Ben has had his own methods of communicating with the outside world all along.

IIRC that was implied at some point, wasn't it? I swear there was something about the Looking Glass that at some point gave the impression that Ben had a way around or through it. Last season was relatively long ago now though so I forget why I believed that already. Maybe it's just the way Ben is in general, heh.
I was blown away by the end revelation; the others I didn't see coming, sure, but not in a "wow!" kinda way, just in a "oh, didn't expect that" way. But that was a cliffhanger that actually has an interesting hook, rather than just artificially cutting off in the middle of the action for the sake of forcing viewers to tune in the next week. If this is the way Lost is going to be now that they have their gameplan set, then call me a fan again.
