bias update
obsession: still Doctor Who (most recent episode blogging: “Journey’s End”)
boyfriend: David Tennant as the Doctor (see my summer of Tennant and Hamlet)
psyched: Burn After Reading (because the Coen Brothers are gods)
dreading: Babylon A.D. (because it won’t screen for critics but I’m gonna endure it anyway)
enemy: Anna Faris, aka The House Bunny (because the whole damn thing was her idea)
(Technorati tags: Doctor Who, David Tennant, Burn After Reading, House Bunny, Anna Faris, Babylon AD)

Let's all hold hands and pray to the Lords of Kobol that Babylon AD will be good. It's a long shot, I know, but come on... we gotta do something.

I agree that the Coen Brothers are probably the most interesting filmmakers around, and I really like some of their broader comedies like The Big Lebowski. Plus I always wanted to see Brad Pitt getting punched by Malkovich, so I won't miss Burn After Reading.
Newbs : I'm sorry to say, Babylon A.D. is quite a trainwreck.

The first few times I saw the preview for Babylon A.D. I thought Michelle Yeoh was going to be a baddie. And I was all "Seriously? Does *anyone* doubt that she could wipe Vin Diesel all over the floor?"
+1 Michelle Yeoh

Yeoh vs. Diesel
Depends. Fight to death or fight for dominance? Armed or unarmed? If armed, how heavy are the weapons?
I'm just asking because I have an ex-g/f I used to spar with. I was a lot stronger, she was a lot faster. In a sparring match I spent a lot of time shrugging off the times she hit me until finally I got one solid move and then it was over, but I'm pretty sure in a knife fight she would have won because I'd probably bleed to death before I pegged her hard enough to matter.
And if two people are trying to kill each other, then speed and accuracy are a lot more important than brute strength because we're talking about strikes to vulnerable spots.
