wait, WHO directed ‘Pineapple Express’?
No! David Gordon Green? David “All the Real Girls” Gordon “Undertow” Green? David Gordon Green directed Pineapple Express?
Get the fuck out of here!
If there’s one indie filmmaker I would have predicted would resist the lure of Hollywood, it would have been David Gordon Green.
Man, I am disillusioned today.

Don't be too hard : the man will actually make some money! His previous movies never found an audience (from imdb.com) :
All The Real Girls : 548,712$
Undertow : 124,171$
Snow Angels : 402,820$
With Pineapple Express, DGG has a chance to have a commercial success, and probably will be able to get his next projects financed. Btw he's writing Jeff Nichols ('Shotgun Stories') next film, so he obviously didn't sold himself out completely to Hollywood.

Terrence Malick directed Weekend At Bernie's...
little-known fact.

Hey, everyone's entitled to bang out an "Ocean's Eleven" every once in a while. As far as I'm concerned, this just makes the guy more interesting.
Haven't seen it yet, but I'm encouraged by it. I love watching shitty genre movies directed by established auteurs, they frequently end up just great ("Ocean's Eleven," "Inside Man," "Collateral").

I promise you, this one is no *Ocean's 11.*
