In my other life as a writer and editor of non-movie-related stuff, I copyedited that book. Not that you’d see any particularly MaryAnn-esque influence on it, but, you know: I copyedited that book. Nope, never Berkley/Ace (at least not that I remember, unless it was under the name of some other imprint or something). I did do work for Ballantine/Del Rey, years ago...

Hmmm, how can I say this nicely?
Did you find the Brian Herbert "Dune" books to be up to the standard of his father? I understand that professional discretion may keep your opinions closely guarded, but as Jerry Seinfeld asked Bill Gates, " Could you do a little robot" if this one was equally as pathetic as the previous ones?
I'm a big Dune fan who thinks the quality of the series is inversely proportional to the time traveled since the writing of the original.
