I don’t know if it’s deliberate on the part of the nice folks at Tor Books or not, but d’ya see that Blogads ad for Paul of Dune down in the righthand column? In my other life as a writer and editor of non-movie-related stuff, I copyedited that book.

Not that you’d see any particularly MaryAnn-esque influence on it, but, you know: I copyedited that book. Maybe it’s just a small media universe in which I roam...

Nope, never Berkley/Ace (at least not that I remember, unless it was under the name of some other imprint or something). I did do work for Ballantine/Del Rey, years ago...

Hmmm, how can I say this nicely?

Did you find the Brian Herbert "Dune" books to be up to the standard of his father? I understand that professional discretion may keep your opinions closely guarded, but as Jerry Seinfeld asked Bill Gates, " Could you do a little robot" if this one was equally as pathetic as the previous ones?

I'm a big Dune fan who thinks the quality of the series is inversely proportional to the time traveled since the writing of the original.
