‘Heroes’ blogging: “One of Us, One of Them”

What?! Mrs. Petrelli is Sylar’s mother?! Sylar is Peter’s brother?! Sylar is Claire’s uncle?! Really?

Tracy and Nikki are a science project? Really? And there’s at least one more of them, it seems, because Dr. Zimmerman thought Tracy was someone else.

Who’s power is it that can make people quantum-leap into other people, like Peter quantum-leapt into the scary bald guy? Is it the scary bald guy?

Are we repeating powers now, with this guy in Africa who’s been painting Matt’s life?

Can Sylar now see the history of every object? What was the deal with that chick who was going to feed Sylar?

Is Heroes Book III jumping the shark already? Was it supposed to be a joke when Mrs. Petrelli actually said, about Sylar, “He’s been misunderstood, he just needs structure”? Was it supposed to be a joke when Hiro said to Daphne, the speeding girl, “You’re telling us your plan? What kind of overconfident nemesis are you?” Or was it merely the writers already running out of smart ideas for how to approach “real” superheroes?

(BTW, there are no palm trees in Poughkeepsie, New York...)

Who’s goin’ evil? Mama Petrelli, way off the deep end. And HRG is still deliciously HRGy. Oo, and Claire wants to hurt Sylar: seems her adoptive dad has had a powerful impact on her. But will she say uncle in the end?
