some Richard Armitage eye candy for ya

Because after my terrible day, I need to cheer myself up...

I recently reviewed, for Film.com, a new box set of a British cop series called George Gently. (I’m kinda Film.com’s go-to girl for British TV.) It’s good stuff if you like British TV cop dramas. But I’m kinda limited, word-count-wise, as to how long I can blather on at Film.com, so I never got around to mentioning that the first story on the first of the three discs in the set, “Gently Go Man,” features the utterly scrumptious Richard Armitage in a prominent guest role. You know, the lovely Northerner who plays Sir Guy of Gisbourne in the current BBC production of Robin Hood. You know: the only thing worth watching in that Robin Hood. (I reviewed Season One a while back. I downloaded Season Two from iTunes but haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.)

Three words sum up Armitage in Gently: leather biker gear. And maybe two more words: homoerotic awesomeness.

Enjoy.

George Gently: Series 1 is now available in Region 1; the Region 2 version will be released on June 1, 2009, and is now available for preorder.

Even after a good day, he's lovely to look at. You need to see him shirtless in Robin Hood series 2 and somehow get your hands on Spooks (MI-5) Season 7. He looks amazing.

Oooh, thanks for the eye candy. I'm sure the C19 girls will be here shortly.

But...let us know when you're done watching RH S2, cuz I would be very interested to hear your take on it.

And they say Hugh Jackman is the Sexiest Man Alive *sighs*

(Of course David Tennant is number 1, so Sir Guyliner can only be 2...)

Oh yes he certainly is fantastic as Ricky Deeming this is a man who carries off leather so beautifully.

I too recommend him as Lucas North in Spooks; and who could fail to fall for him as John Thornton in North and South.
May I also suggest as contrast to Guy his lovely gentle characters John Standring ( Sparkhouse ) and Harry Kennedy in the Vicar of Dibley Finale episodes.

All that gorgeousness combined with such talent.

Beg, steal or borrow a copy of North and South for the weekend. Watch it all in one go, without interuptions and with lots of chocolate and tissues. Be prepared to watch the ending at least five times.

Magic.

I've seen *North & South* (and owe a copy too!). Yes, he's wonderful in that one...

Thanks. Needed that. Have just bought the Robin Hood series 1 box set so am loving anything Armitage at the mo.

And you own North & South! Taste, MAJ, you've got taste.

If you liked George Gently, you'll be pleased to know they're making another 4 films for broadcast next year

To paraphrase Foghorn Leghorn: I-I-I-I SAY, DIDDLY DANGLY!

HI Guys, Ive only just found this delicious man !!
Wheres he been all my life ??
I admit to only seeing him in "The Vicar \of Dibley" but I will def be getting the other dvs's hes made....
Gorgeous sex on legs !! Joyce xx

thanks for the pics with Richard in leather....
Ive not seen leather that looks so comfortable on a guy !!!! Bring it on.. JOyce xx

Hi everyone, yes he does look great in leather, i love him as guy of gisborne, so dark and brooding, sigh

Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus! I was just idly scanning the boyfriend file, which I hadn't noticed before, and here's the dish from MI5! And somebody IDs him as the guy who marries Geraldine on the Vicar of Dibley and my head swims, I hadn't recognized him, who knew?

YUM!

(now scrutinizing the rest of the early entries...)

RA is on MI-5????? i've never seen him on there... only rupert penry-jones...

Bronxbee, you gotta catch up! Penry-Jones...uh-oh, better not spoil...

@althea: i've been watching it on my local PBS station -- they may be a season or more behind. perhaps it's time to order from amazo.uk.
