last call for autographed copies of ‘The Totally Geeky Guide to The Princess Bride’
BUMPED UP: still got 13 8 copies left. makes a nice stocking stuffer...
So, I’m back from my quick excursion up to the Boston area for a showing of The Princess Bride. Ten hours alone in a rental car over the course of 24 hours ain’t exactly the most fun way to spend a day -- even if the brand-spanking-new 2009 Chevy Malibu (260 miles on the odometer when I picked it up) I got to drive was pretty nice. But on the whole, I think the trip was worth it. The crowd at the Cape Ann Community Cinema in Gloucester was, um, intimate, but it was really nice to see the movie with an audience and on a big screen -- I’ve only ever seen it on VHS and DVD -- and we had a nice chat about the movie afterward. And I sold a couple of copies of my book, The Totally Geeky Guide to The Princess Bride.
But I’ve still got 17 copies of the book left, and I want to get rid of them. The book will continue to be available on Amazon U.S. and Amazon U.K., but when these 17 copies are gone, I won’t be ordering any more for me to sell and autograph on my own (as I’ve been doing at sci-fi conventions and other appearances like the one last night).
So this is your last call for autographed copies. If you’d like one (or more), here’s how to get one (or them):
PayPal: If you’re in the United States, send $12.95 (that’s $9.95 for the book plus $3 for postage within the United States) for each copy you’d like. If you're outside the U.S., the total is US$15.95 (that’s $9.95 for the book plus $6 for postage to any destination outside the United States) for each copy you’d like. PayPal to "thechick@flickfilosopher.com". In the Note section, be sure to put your mailing address. (This is super important -- I need to know where to mail your book(s).) Also please use the Note section to indicate if you'd like the autograph personalized somehow -- if you don't indicate a preference, the autograph will NOT be personalized.
Check/money order: Please note that I can accept only checks/money orders in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank or in pounds sterling drawn on a U.K. bank. For books shipped within the U.S., it’s $12.95/£7.75 for each copy (that’s including postage). For books shipped outside the U.S., it’s $15.95/£9.50 for each copy (that’s including postage). Mail to:
MaryAnn Johanson
FlickFilosopher.com
PO Box 221
Bronx, NY 10470
USA
Be sure to include the address to which you'd like the book(s) sent, and whether you'd like the autograph(s) personalized.

If you ever do one of these within an hour of the Bronx, I'm totally in. Gloucester, though? Just too far to drive on a work-night... I thought about going anyway, but just couldn't justify the time to myself. As you correctly specify, it takes a while. :-/

The check...as they say...is in the mail. :-)

Finished this the other day. It's really a fun read -- I recommend it to folks who aren't even sure they like The Princess Bride. And if you haven't seen it in a while, you'll get a real jonesin' to add it to your NetFlix queue.
Plus it's a great way to support MaryAnn!

Just sent the payment. So, send one my way (autographed, if still available- I didn't say that in the message).

Glad I got one when I did! Tho I think I might have to buy a "lending copy" from Amazon. >B^)

Sight. When are you going to extend you're offers to Europe?

I can ship to Europe. I can ship anywhere on the planet. It's just that I can only accept payment in U.S. dollars or pounds sterling. It's simply not feasible to do currency exchange with other currencies for such small amounts -- the fees would be more than the payment. But hey, my being able to accept checks in pounds sterling is a new thing. (I recently opened a British bank account, which was easier than I expected it to be, and will, I hope, serve me well as I attempt to expand my empire to the U.K.)
But I believe you can pay me via PayPal in whatever currency your PayPal account is denominated in, and I'll be paid in dollars. You should try it, at least, and see if PayPal lets you do it. Just be sure to send an equivalent amount for the "shipping outside the U.S." price in either dollars or pounds.
