I saw this trailer before I saw the film, and I worried then that it gives away too much of the story. The truth is, though, that the premise of the film -- a man is born old and gets younger as he ages -- pretty much gives away the story anyway. And it turns out that there’s a lot more to enjoying the movie than simply knowing the premise -- or viewing this trailer -- in advance. So you rest assured, if you’re one of those oddballs, like me, who prefers that trailers not spoil an entire movie, that this one does not ruin the experience. (Apparently most people want to know the whole story before they see a movie, which is bizarre. But it’s why so many trailers do give away so much.)

Benjamin Button is based on a novella by F. Scott Fitzgerald, which sets Benjamin’s life story in the era between the Civil War and the Jazz Age (the movie updates it, setting his life between World War I and today). I just discovered today, via Very Short List, that there’s a new graphic novel version of that novella that preserves the original tale. It looks intriguing:
