If you've written about this before, I apologize.
Have you seen the Robin Williams on Obama video? Absolutely hysterical.

Hi MaryAnn:
I just looked over your recent post in re the top 100 movies, which prompted me to take a look at YOUR top 100 movies. (I agree with 98 % of yours BTW) I have to admit that Buckaroo Bonzai is one of my favorite movies as well. It has the best movie quote of all time " Laugh while you can Monkey Boy". I wondered if you have ever considered writing a totally Geeky guide to Buckaroo Bonzai?

MaryAnn,
I don't know how much of a DVD collector you are as a film buff does not necessarily mean one collects them. If so, do you have a "Holy Grail DVD" a really rare or out of print one that you value amongst others? (For instance the "Dread Pirate"/"Princess Buttercup" editions of "The Princess Bride" are out of print.)
One of my most cherished is the 2 disc "Almost Famous: Untitled" (it came with a audio CD of the fictional band's music).
Also, did you like the show, "Night Court" at all?

You're going to get a lot of these open threads; how about a weekly one instead?

The open thread is for you guys to start your own discussions, too, not just to ask me questions.
Patrick, I'm gonna use your question about DVDs as a question of the day. And no, I never watched *Night Court.*
A Totally Geeky Guide to Buckaroo Banzai? A possibility, but probably not anytime soon.
Robin Williams on Obama? Haven't seen it.

Didn't know if you had already seen this, but now that the new Doctor has been announced, they are already starting to speculate on his new companion.
Personally, I'm about done with the "sweet young thing" companions. Lets see a companion couple again. Bill Bailey and Katherine Parkinson for instance as a pair of Galactic tourists who get stranded by the Sycorax who blow up their cruise ship.
or why not Stephen Fry as a crusty old History professor whose teaching assistant Mychelle Ryan helps with her encyclopaedic knowledge of period literature.
Or, and this would be my favorite...the couple Carey Mulligan and Finlay Robinson as Sparrow and Nightengale who about halfway through the season reveal that they are expecting a baby. And in the LAST episode get killed, leaving the child in The Doctor's care.

I'd hardly call Lily Allen a "sweet young thing" by any stretch of the imagination! *laughs* Although I have always liked her for some inexplicable reason and wouldn't mind her as a companion if she could act, I highly doubt that she can- or that she's even interested.
I get the impression that almost everyone wants Carey Mulligan back- myself included. ^.^ But I think the most interesting plots would come from having an older companion and all the complicated dynamics that would go with that.

Night Court was funny, but the recent 30 Rock episode featuring the forced Night Court reunion was funnier.
