coming soon: ‘Pride and Predator’First came the news of the new book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Now we learn, via the Guardian, of a new movie: Pride and Predator: Will Clark, best known for his award-winning gothic comedy short The Amazing Trousers, will direct the film, which is being produced by Rocket partners Steve Hamilton Shaw and David Furnish. God help me, but I love this idea. Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

I saw this posted on the City of Heroes chat boards.
Discussion there promptly delved into who was the best casting call for Darcy: Bruce Campbell.

On the topic of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, I really hope that this is going to become its own genre. A Tale of Two Cities Under Zombie Siege, anyone? Perhaps The Great Gatsby: Zombie Hunter?

I just remembered a Red Dwarf episode where an alt-universe Kochanski takes Dave and Cat into a holosuite representation of an Austen novel, and an insanely jealous Kryten going in with a tank to force them all to sit down at his meticulously cooked dinner.

Forget this; let's get 'The Eyre Affair' made first!
Bronte! With psychopaths! Vampires! Mad professors! Werewolfs! (& mammoths).
Ticking all the boxes there, I think..

As a matter of principle, I am not going to read that book unless given to me by a family member I do not wish to offend. Life is too short, there are too many books, and I'm not being paid to read it. As someone who read "Sense and Sensibility" six times, if I ever meet this guy, I will snub him for his sacrilege and not invite him for tea.

Then, of course, there's the upcoming spy novel Pride and Extreme Prejudice....
Okay, I just made that up but still...
Plus writer Esther Friesner has done her share of Jane Austen pastiches but apparently no one else reads her on this site...

And then there's the inevitable Robert Louis Stevenson crossover, Hyde and Prejudice.
Okay, I'll be quiet...

Hyde and Prejudice. LOL, Good one.
Perhaps on a double bill with "Battlestar Potemkin" or "Borgday Afternoon"?

As long as we're announcing literary crossovers, I would have thought that Mary Shelley and Jane Austen were an obvious match. Unfortunately, someone beat me to it.
