homeHave been home, actually, for almost 24 hours, but I've been all but unconscious as I've been getting over the second worst case of food poisoning I've ever had. A most unpleasant bookend to my London trip. I thought flying with a severe sore throat -- which began my trip -- was bad. Vomiting in an enclosed aircraft cabin in front of total strangers, who then go on to be really, really nice about it, is way worse. Oh, this is movie related, for sure. As I was wondering about what I ate that made me sick, and had to consider the British Airways food -- which is actually surprisingly delicious -- I of course thought of Leslie Nielsen in Airplane! explaining how everyone on that plane would be violently ill, followed by "the inevitable drooling." *sigh* Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

Oh no! Well done keeping your cinematic good humor about you... hope you feel better soon.

So sorry you had to get sick like that.
(glances aboot) Go ahead. Blame it on the horrible in-flight movie. It was one of those Air Bud straight-to-the-dollar-bin titles, wasn't it?
As you mentioned the scene from Airplane! here it is...

Well, it wasn't the Ealing pub food. You had three other tasters for that.

Ergh. Hope you feel better soon - I'm recalling a horrid virus I picked up last autumn. Most miserable week of my life. If you dislike Gatorade and are able to get out of your apartment long enough to achieve this, coconut water helps with the dehydration, and doesn't taste nasty at all. Unless you're allergic to coconut, in which case...er, carry on.

Flying and vomitting are equally (un)pleasant experiences, IMO.

Oh dear. If I were in NYC right now I'd be dropping by with homemade soup and ginger-ale. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm sorry to hear you've been sick but I'm glad you made it home safely. Especially in view of recent events.

Oh, gee whiz, my sympathies! The last (please, God, let it be the last time I ever get it) bout of food poisoning I had at least hit me in Las Vegas (never eat at the Rio Buffet), when I had a day and a half to recover (or just lie down and die) before driving home.
Glad yer back!
