new DVD releases in Region 1 and Region 2, week of March 9, 2009Still trying to find the best way to highlight new releases. My most recent previous format was too text-heavy and too repetitious of what I’ve already said. So I’m trying a pared-down version. Lemme know what you think, or if you think this is still too repetitive. I always highlight new DVD releases in the righthand column each week, but do you like this additional reminder in its own new post? Out March 9 in Region 2: green light (definitely check it out): • The Boy in the Striped Pajamas: read my review/buy at Amazon U.K./also new in Region 1 at Amazon U.S. • Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day: read my review/buy at Amazon U.K./already available in Region 1 at Amazon U.S. • Before the Rains: read my review/buy at Amazon U.K./already available in Region 1 at Amazon U.S. • The Rocker: not reviewed/buy at Amazon U.K./already available in Region 1 at Amazon U.S. red light (not worth your time): • Brideshead Revisited: read my review/buy at Amazon U.K. • Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comics: read my review/buy at Amazon U.K./already available in Region 1 at Amazon U.S. Out March 10 in Region 1: green light (definitely check it out): • Synecdoche, New York: read my review/buy at Amazon U.S. • Happy-Go-Lucky: read my review/buy at Amazon U.S./already available in Region 2 at Amazon U.K. • Rachel Getting Married: not reviewed/buy at Amazon U.S. • Milk: read my review/buy at Amazon U.S./preorder in Region 2 at Amazon U.K. • The Boy in the Striped Pajamas: read my review/buy at Amazon U.S./also new in Region 2 at Amazon U.K. • Battle in Seattle: not reviewed/buy at Amazon U.S. • Cadillac Records: not reviewed/buy at Amazon U.S. • Let the Right One In: read my review/buy at Amazon U.S. • Cracker: The Complete Collection: not reviewed/buy at Amazon U.S./already available in Region 2 at Amazon U.K. red light (not worth your time): • Role Models: read my review/buy at Amazon U.S./preorder in Region 2 at Amazon U.K. Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

I definitely like the additional reminder. Otherwise a month goes by and then I finally remember to see what's new. :)

This is a useful heads up. Seeing Cracker come out for R1 has prompted me to get the R2 version soon. It's a hefty price tag but then it includes all 1350 minutes.
Robbie Coltrane is brilliant as Fitz and Cracker is one of the classics of the genre.

to be honest I prefered the previous version with the extra text (as in this entry - http://www.flickfilosopher.com/blog/2009/01/012009new_on_dvd_region_1_and_region.html ). It was useful to have all the information in one post, with a sample of your review.
I can't understand people who worry about a post being too repetitious. As long as you have a title & a short description of what the post is before the cut, anyone who isn't interested can just not click on it or use the scroll bar and jsut skim past anything they're not interested in.
of course it's really down to which you prefer, and which is easiest for you.
