I know of so many real-life horror stories concerning this topic that that last joke isn't even funny. Nor would it be funny if I didn't know of such stories.
One of the most frustrating days of my life was spent trying to help a friend get a restraining order against her abusive ex-husband--an attempt that ultimately failed because she had been too scared of her ex to file a police report.
One of the worst problems about said crisis was the fact that the ex has been her second spouse--and her first had been an abusive bastard as well.
I hope the ad works but unfortunately, the type of sobs who do this don't pay much attention to PSAs.

This makes my blood boil. My SIL was/is stalked by a former friend who fell in "love" with her (they never had a relationship.) She was punched, had a glass thrown in her face, her property vandalized.
Stuff like this just makes me want to fight. FIGHT!

I don't think such PSAs are likely to make any abusers see the error of their ways.
What they might, hopefully, do is convince some victims to walk away and/or seek help, make other people who know or suspect what's going on more likely to intervene, and generally raise awareness and funds.

I'd have said the exact same thing if it was an identical ad focusing on domestic violence against men featuring Orlando Bloom.
OK, maybe I'd have mentioned Troy as well.

I don't think abusers are the target of this -- the abused are.
What I find so shocking about this little film is the unexpectedness of its punchline -- that the woman hadn't agreed to it, wasn't prepared for it. But surely that's how it always is. I guess. I don't know from firsthand experience.
I dunno. Because of the kind of person I am, maybe, I've never been in an abusive relationship. Certainly, the first guy who hit me would get whacked in return... and then would find himself alone, if not worse (at the wrong end of a legal prosecution, maybe). But surely there's value in women seeing this and saying to themselves, Hey, this isn't what I signed up for...
And yes, it would be very interesting to see a similar ad with an Orlando Bloom as the abuser, so that women who might not realize otherwise could learn that abusers can be attractive, on the surface, and still not worth sticking with...
