new ‘Doctor Who’ tomorrow!
I thought it was Sunday, but it’s tomorrow.
Alien worlds? Dangerous creatures? New companions? Bah. I can’t wait to see the Doctor in shades and what looks like a new leather coat:

Though seeing as this is supposed to be a sweltering desert planet, he could at least throw us a bone and get down to his T-shirt...

Allow me to yawn my enthusiasm.
Hopefully Michelle Ryan took some notes from Bionic Woman and actually attempts to act. Cuz if Katee Sackhoff can blow her off the screen without any effort whatsoever, it seems very dangerous to pair her with the charisma of David Tennant.

I think the biggest problem Michelle Ryan had was trying to do an American accent and act. The one episode where she could use her natural accent, she emoted. It was an AMAZING difference.

let me second my enthusiastic support for a stripped down Doctor.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Fandom failed to alert me, which, dude...

Am really looking forward to this DW fix. DT has been doing loads of radio promo's over the pond and has been giving out spoilers (some by accident) so don't read/listen to them unless you WANT to be spoiled.
19 hours!!!
* if anyone one hears about when Torchwood-Children of Earth will be airing...

WHAAA? Since when is this tomorrow?! I missed a memo somewheres. Thanks, MaryAnn.
I'm excited. I hope it kicks ass.

I think it's on in England this weekend. Not sure when the rest of the world gets to see it.
Tennant in a T-shirt might not work (well, it might, but)...caught an interview with him on the extras of the most recent season DVD. He was doing a walking tour of the Roman set in shorts. He has very stick-like legs...

Oh, I've seen that Pompeii interview and many more, my friend, and am well-aware of the stick-ish-ness, and am TOTALLY OKAY WITH THAT.

Tennant hosted a three-hour radio show with Catherine Tate this morning. You can listen to it here:

^ Agreed. DT has gorgeous legs and I'm hoping we get to see more of him (and in HD too!)
Only a few hours to go...

This airs in the U.K. tonight (in fact, it's already over and done with by now). No word on when it will air in the U.S.
I plan to watch by alternative means asap and post something spoileriffic on it within a day or two.

Caught the radio show with David and Catherine (and John Barrowman near the end ) online It was a HOOT! Listen soon as the link is only good for 7 days. They were such fun I really hope they do it again soon.

Caro:
JB said(on the BBC radio show with David and Catherine) that it will air during June or July. He doesn't even know yet when it will actually run. It will run on five consecutive nights though, so set your DVRs accordingly when it does show up.
Hopefully BBCA will run it first. Sci Fi Channel is just now running Series 1 of Torchwood.
I see that JB has a new variety show that he is on called "Any Dream Will Do" Does this mean he is finished with Torchwood"

The flying bus was the best thing I've ever seen in New Who.
Michelle Ryan for Catwoman.

Brenda, John Barrowman is a common feature of British TV these days, which means his light entertainment/variety/talent shows are unlikely to affect Torchwood - they certainly haven't so far. However, he revealed on a chat show the other day that he might be joining the cast of La Cage Aux Folles in the West End, which would presumably have a bearing on any fourth series.

He's always doing those theatre shows... and not just in Britain. He was even one of the judges on the Canadian version of "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria". With a shortened Torchwood he probably has even more time for them.

I just watched it on the internets! I love the internets! Fun Episode.

I actually just finished John Barrownman's autobiography (yeah, I'm a dork -- but it turned out to be a really fun, dishy read), and it confirms what Proper Dave and Mo are saying. He's been doing "Any Dream Will Do" for a while, and he's also in the habit of being in tons of shows at the same time.
My favorite part of the book may have been the bit about how he and David Tennant both had to learn to throw their long coats back behind them before they start running in costume, lest they eat it. I'm so going to be looking for that from now on.
And THANKS for the link, Proper Dave!! Well done. I would so save you from the Vashta Nerada. If I could.

Thanks Brenda and all,
The new entertainment show is called Tonight is the Night. It starts next saturday and runs for about 7 weeks.
When JB was on Paul O'Grady with Dawn French, he gave the impression that he would be willing to do Cage aux Folly but only for a limited time as he already has Panto booked over Christmas and most of January.
See full schedule here: http://www.johnbarrowman.com/appearances.shtml
I am so stooked for his new book, the first one Anything Goes is on my bestsellers list :)
He seems to have some free time between Aug and Christmas, but my fingers are crossed that he will be doing Torchwood season Four at that time.
Thanks Proper Dave for the link!
Now, as for DT and DW, going to the alternative means at this very moment...

Just finished watching PotD. It was fun. Looking forward to MaryAnn's review. Be nice if we had a proper season this year, but we'll take any Doctor we can get. Hopefully we won't have to wait as long for the next one. Read Torchwood season 3 is currently due in June.

The HD looked gorgeous. Even the title sequence appeared sharper.
Good story. Didn't really like Michelle Ryan though and didn't feel at all emotionally connected when the Doctor turned her down.
Finally minutes were amazing. And "The Waters of Mars" look great too.

That's an old series from year before last over here! And he was doing that during the filming of Dr Who/Torchwood.
Dr Who was pretty darn good though last night (A good curry and a new DR Who was a fab way to spend the evening!)

First time posting....wohooo!
I was all excited for this Dr Who special, and I really really wanted to like it.
I must not have been trying hard enough. Everything about it made me cringe. (ewww yucky stuff in my hair!...*shudder*)
Makes me sad to say this, but the episode is helping me wean myself from David Tennant as the 10th Doctor. :-(
I'm one gigantic ball of sad after seeing the episode.
But I am looking forward to "The Waters of Mars."
