“Obama Depressed, Distant Since ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Series Finale”
The Onion strikes gold again:
WASHINGTON—According to sources in the White House, President Barack Obama has been uncharacteristically distant and withdrawn ever since last month's two-hour series finale of Battlestar Galactica."The president seems to be someplace else lately," said one high-level official, speaking on condition of anonymity. "Yesterday we were all being briefed on the encroachment of Iranian drone planes into Iraq, when he just looked up from the table and blurted out, 'What am I supposed to watch on Fridays at 10 p.m. now? Numb3rs?'"
Just go read the whole thing. And don’t be drinking anything while you do if you want to save your keyboard.

I'd like to point out that I now have to clean some half chewed Cadbury's mini eggs off my monitor. Thanks MAJ.

I am a little worried that the Onion is getting it too close to Real-Life. Obama does say things along the lines of: "I never said this would be an easy journey... etc etc." So if he does go off on a "So say we all" riff, I would not be shocked at all.
And the Onion suggests he might be a Browncoat. I could totally see that.

He is a Trekkie. During the campaign, he was sitting down for an interview with a reporter when Michelle passed by. She was wearing a belt which had rhinestones around the buckle. Obama put his hands on her hips and started talking toward the buckle, saying something about "dilithium crystals" that only a Trekkie would know enough to joke about.
So, I could totally see him as a Browncoat or BSG fan!

I really, really enjoy having a President that gets teased for being a geek, rather than one that gets teased for being a dumbass. Makes me hope for the future. B)
Time for another MaryAnn "It is the time of the GenXer!" post! B)
