Judging by what I've seen so far, it looks like it has a sort of Adventures of Baron Munchausen vibe to it, which might worry Pixar's accountants but it makes me very happy.
I never allow myself to get too hyped, but I'm pretty excited about this one (although the two main characters seem to be male once again... why not a crotchety old woman and/or a chubby girl scout? Girls like adventures too). Monsters Inc. is my favorite Pixar movie, and Castle in the Sky is one of my favorite animated movies, so it's very tough to hold my expectations in check, especially after reading the reviews from Cannes.
Every time Pixar comes out with a movie, I get my hopes up that the Hollywood crowd will eventually nominate a voice actor for an award. I keep waiting for the recognition these guys deserve (Robin Williams for Aladdin, Ellen DeGeneres for Nemo, Holly Hunter for Incredibles (even Brad Bird's excellent work as Edna), Paul Newman for Cars, etc.) for the way they use their voices to convey emotion, expression, soul... something you usually DON'T get with live-action actors. Here's hoping for Ed Asner...
