the oh-yes! DVD of the week: ‘Land of the Lost: Complete Series (Limited Edition Gift Set)’

It comes in a lunch box. Of course it does.

I just bought the new box set with the complete series (I didn’t spring for the lunch-box version, though -- what would I do with it?), and I can’t wait to see this again. I caught some of Sci Fi Channel’s all-day Land of the Lost marathon yesterday, and it reminded me why I have such fond memories of this show: it totally warped my brain as a kid.

So I remain optimistic that, when I do sit down to watch it all, I won’t have this experience, documented by The Onion a few years ago:

I was so excited yesterday when I stumbled upon the marathon. I LOVED that show.

My 10 year old daughter cracked up when she saw the dinosaur. "Great special effects, mom." I had to agree-they were cheesy-even for back then.
